Meditation

Why Bother?

Meditation helps to balance stress and its associated symptoms, including anxiety, headaches, and fatigue. It can help to improve sleep quality, boost the immune system and inspire peace and allow ones natural creativity and spirit to flow more freely.  Besides, imagine how good it feels when you stop action and take time out in peace and quiet.

Balance Stress

Excess stress comes  through personal relationships, work, health challenges, our own inner thoughts and more, and can have uncomfortable physical and mental effects on every aspect of us and our lives. Meditation is a way to balance stress and allow us to be more comfortable in our own bodies no matter where we are  and improve overall well-being,

Techniques

There are various meditation techniques from around the world that can help, including deep, relaxing breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and guided imagery. These techniques can be practiced by beginners through advanced.

I incorporate these and  body alignment awareness in the process learned from my bodywork and various movement and dance experience.

Other elements that may help to increase focus and relaxation including guided visualization, essential oils, incense, chanting & sounding, candlelight, white noise, and music.  Although other elements can be added at times, I think the bottom line is to focus on the breath.

Meditation Basics

Besides giving ourselves the time, whether it's one minute, twenty, or more out of our day to just stop action...learning basic alignment, breathing, and relaxation techniques alone I believe is all that's needed to get started... and can be done almost anywhere.

MEDITATION INSTRUCTION

Meditation guidance is available in-person or virtually privately or for organizations, groups or businesses.
